Festival Kortrijk 2015 is part of Gone West, the WWI commemoration initiative of the Province of West Flanders that includes, among others, the world premiere of Last and First Men by Jóhann Jóhannsson and the concert of Brussels Philharmonic.
From 8 to 25 May, 2014, Festival Kortrijk brought you purely classical and strikingly contemporary music, mixed programs, sound art, lectures, workshops and pop-ups, all for your pleasure. Now you can enjoy the afterglow of our last edition with our photo book and the video reportages of Koen Moerman.
A unique summer outing for anyone out to discover Kortrijk in a ‘different’ manner. Sound artists Akio Suzuki, David Helbich and Christina Kubisch have created individual ‘sound walks’, tailored to Kortrijk. Discover the city in a different way; take a journey with a plan in hand – either with or without headphones. Their sound walks form part of the collection ‘Listen to This’, which is available – admission-free – every day of the year, thanks to a partnership with Tourism Kortrijk. You can also download Akio Suzuki’s walking map and David Helbich’s MP3s & scores on our website.
