Composer and artist David Helbich has been working in Brussels since 2002. He composes, creates installations, writes lyrics and realizes sound walks in various cities. For Kortrijk Tracks, Helbich is creating an audio tour that will be completed in 2013. But we can offer you a sneak preview. In one particular central place, everyday urban noise is mixed with that of other cities. In this particular case, sounds from Palestine and Israel. The foreign city gradually blends with the familiar sounds of the city. As if suddenly one is transported somewhere else entirely,… or not?
Curious to see how people will react to the altered sounds of their familiar environment.
